Travels: OBX

So this past memorial day weekend the mister and I were lucky little bitches. We had the opportunity of a free place to stay with some family in the outer banks. On top of that free place to stay which was beyond sweet. It just so happened that our bestest of friends from home would be in the same place at the same time. I mean I don't think we could make that work out again if we tried. Which in this instance....we didn't try. So here are some photos from the incredible outer banks of North Carolina.

My dear friend Kristy's little son Oliver with his grandaddy, and the ladies playing.

The handsome boys. My mister on the right pretending he has muscle, but really just looking like a puffed up fish... love him!
My incredible and beautiful friends! I love them so much, this photo is finding its way into a frame!

Boys will always want to play in the sand no matter their age!
The outer banks are an incredible place. It's a strip of land that has the ocean on 1 side and a sound on the other. It's a small strip where you are water locked. It was truly beautiful!
Brothers! That my folks is my mister on the right and his mini me Evan on the left. He is only 17 and almost as tall as Andrew. Hard to believe.
Me enjoying the last moments of our long weekend. It was truly a lovely weekend. An escape that was much needed. I unplugged to best of my ability and only checked my work blackberry twice, for me that's a big deal. I will be making trips to the outer banks again that is for sure, maybe if the stars align correctly again I can get their with my amazing friends! Did you do anything awesome sauce over the long weekend. Drunken stupors count as awesome in case you can't remember your long weekend.

XO!

Pumpkin Party

This past weekend, my mister's boss who are also dear friends threw a pumpkin party. There were tons of decorations, food & drink, costumes and a pumpkin carving contest. Let me preface the first picture by asking a question? Do you have that friend that you can't duplicate, like they are a 1 in a million and you couldn't make up half the stuff they do if you tried. Yeah that's Mar....the woman below.

Meet Martha..aka Rose. "My name is Rose, and my husband Haaary and I moved to Boca Raton after retiring from New Jersey." "My Harry bought me all these jewels." I couldn't make this stuff up folks.

Pumpkin guts...my fave!!

I have to say I think Kristy's pumpkin shoes and witch socks make this photo! Clashing colors are adorbs.

After a little refresher on how to carve a pumpkin, A and B went to town.

Okay so A and I decided to follow this little ghost in the graveyard template. He isn't so scary but there were kids there, didn't want to freak them out with A's mad pumpkin carving skills.

Umm...so let's just quote Charlie Sheen"WINNING!". Yep that's right the Smolaks took home 1st prize for our awesome sauce pumpkin!!

Sigfried and Roy

I am betting you are thinking what the hell is Emily talking about. Well folks a while back I had the best text message conversation with my best friend of forever. It was so classic and funny I had to share it with you all.

If you tell me that didn't make you laugh you are a crap face liar!! I mean come on...as you have seen from photos of me...spandex and glitter could be a little rough. Not to mention my dad in spandex...SCARY.

So just a brief back story Nicole and I have been friends since my 7th grade and her 8th grade year so a total of 15 year. It blows my mind sometimes all the good times we have had and how well we know each other. Just for fun....
I mean really!! We were so young and so not cute. I had braces and we both fought our curly hair. Just for the record that is a scrunchy in my hair and I am wearing breakfast food pajamas because well they must have been awesome if I was wearing them...nough said! On a side note can we talk about the awesome gymnastic cat poster in the background...and I wonder why I wasn't in the popular crowd.

*This is the girl I was supposed to go to Oregon with that I discussed in our love story. I will explain more about how she took my not going and how our friendship was healed in my engagement story.

outfit > wedding fun

The wedding this past weekend was in Hilton Head South Carolina, that's about 8 hours from us. So on Wednesday we set off to travel down the east coast to see our sweet friends Logan and Christine tie the knot. It was a small wedding and by small I mean like 22 people including family. We were honored to have been included on the guest list.

We decided to partake in all the festivities this little shindig had going on. So one night we got all dolled up, and by dolled up I mean the basic crap you wear to work and headed out for a night of cocktails and laughs. It was a really fun weekend, but here we are back in the grind and reality life. Missing the smells of the beach but they have been replaced by the sweet smells of fall.

You know how some people get rejuvenated when spring hits. That's how I feel about fall. Everything about it make me feel new and alive. The cool breeze, the hot cocoa's, the warm sweaters, and boots. God everything is just so fab - u - lous!!

Psst....Part 1 of our love story coming soon, like this week.

It's a stache party

I need to have a date night with all of these lovely ladies! I love each and every one of them with all my heart. This was our last little hooray before people made big changes in their lives. From left to right.... Sarah has moved to the big apple. I have changed jobs again. Sweet Martha has put herself first and taken the opportunity she has been waiting for. Laura has closed down her business in town and moved back to the country full time. Kristy's little baby bean is now over 6 months old, and darling Catherine has moved on in her career as well and thinking of expanding her family....phew *wipes brow* lots of changes with my family of friends. Lots of wonderful exciting changes for my little group of giggly gal pals. How I love them!
