DIY: Glittery Starbucks tumbler

So I know in the grand world of blogging, when you propose doing a DIY project. You photograph your supplies, and show yourself in the process of doing the project. However, traditional is not how I fly. So what you get here in this little DIY post is a list of what I used and the finished product. I feel that should be sufficient considering how easy this project is.

Supplies:
Starbucks mug with removal insert. They do not make these any longer, but you an still get them online.
Colored glitter... I went girly girl here, but any color will do.
Paint brush
Modge podge

Instructions:
Take out the insert part. Paint the inside of the main tumbler with modge podge. Dump a bunch of glitter in the cup. Shake it around until it is all covered. Let it dry. Voila. Now you have a blinged out Starbucks tumbler. Fun, easy, and adds a little sparkle to your day.

XOXO

Sometimes I sew

The other day I decided I do the same shit everyday. I work my ass off for 10 hours in front of a computer, only to turn it off and turn on the television. This is just stupid. There are so many other things that I used to love to do. Crafty type things. So I decided screw TV I am going to make something. I had been wanting to try my hand at these little guys so I did just that.

After taking a good 30 minutes to remember how in the hell to thread my sewing machine, I got to work making my own little fox pillow. Okay so the fabric I chose is a little tripy but try not to stare too long. Isn't he cute?!?! We (by we I mean me and the cat) have named him Marvin and he is hanging out in the guest room ready to welcome whoever comes to visit.

*cheers*

Spring fever

I recently started cross stitching again. I tend to pick it up and then put it back down for awhile. I started creating this pretty little flower. With the weather being as lovely as it's been lately, I just couldn't resist working on something spring like. Now it's taken me far too long to complete this thing, but I think it will look pretty in my new orange bathroom.

In other news... I am clearly a crappy blogger, but you love me anyway. You will continue to read my posts even thought they are spotty because they are awesome! Right!!! Yeah that wasn't a question so I expect you to show up. Thanks *cheers*

sketching

I don't pretend to be an artist or that sketching and drawing is something I do often, but sometimes... just sometimes I doodle a little something that I like. Like this.

Happy Monday, it was snowing when I got up and now the sun is out with not a trace of snow on the ground. Craziest weather.

Painting

I used to paint when I was in college. I took one class and fell madly in love. There's a painting over our sofa that I did and one over the bed in the guest room that has a saying my dad said at our wedding. I love that one the most I think. So last night I busted out the paints and went to town.

I know you all are loving my outfit here. I wasn't going to wear anything nice while using acrylic paint, it doesn't come out!! Notice the apron...a necessity I think.

Those are 3 of my favorite colors, but I love the ones below too. I know if I have the primaries I can mix any color, but sometimes I just like the pre made color.

The finished product. We live in Virginia and I love it so. Virginia is where we first lived together, where we got engaged, and married. It will hopefully continue to be a place where we start a family and grow old together. See the heart...that is Richmond where we live. Pretty cute huh!?!? It's going to go in our dining room so I see it on my way for coffee every morning.
